About me

Hi, I'm Saloni, Design Lead at Spotify, London where I’ve co-created product strategy, driven product vision, produced experience frameworks, and managed and coached a team of four early-career to senior designers. I enjoy leading through ambiguity & gnarly problem spaces using insights and deep collaboration. I have worked for over 8 years as a product design IC across a variety of domains & companies from pre-seed startups to fortune 500, collaborating with teams of different sizes & constellations.

Helping people fall in love with Spotify

Spotify · 2023-24

As the design lead for the Activation product area, I am committed to improved in-product journeys that help our users unlock value in features, formats & tiers. Driving key business KPIs through opportunities for learning & experimentation across tiers– I oversee a product area of 5 squads and directly manage & coach a team of four early-career to senior designers.

A cold start experience that gets you right

Spotify · 2021-22

Led design for cold-start personalisation as part of the new user experience for the Spotify app, improving activation & retention for different formats & markets. Known among the best of personalised onboarding experiences, the taste experience itself was customized & personalised using machine learning to help diverse users make Spotify their own.

Improving Premium conversion on Spotify

Spotify · 2022-23

As part of a major change to Spotify's Free user experience in select markets, I helped improve the conversion to retention ratio by improving Premium awareness for new and free users contextually and better informing their mental models of the tiers.

An EV platform for 2 & 3 wheelers

RevOS · 2018

2 & 3 wheelers are the biggest vehicle segment in markets like India, and RevOS (now Bolt) was building the first EV platform for the needs of this market. We worked on their branding, value chain and UX design during their pre-seed stage when they signed on their first few OEMs and gained seed funding.

Bridging designers' intent and developers' needs

Adobe · 2017

Led 0-1 design for the designer-developer collaboration workflows in Adobe XD, collaborating with several other designers. Even with an MVP scope, the solution successfully migrated users' preferred handoff mode from 3rd party apps to within the Adobe eco-system and eased continuous collaboration for teams.

Adobe's automagical features for pro-sumers

At Adobe, I helped devise ways to utilise emerging, smart technologies "under-the-hood" and design effortless, "auto-magical" features and workflows for consumers to organise and edit their media.
